PROFESSIONALLY:
I have been teaching for 31 years - and most of those years have been in middle school. This will be my final year of teaching - as I am retiring in June. Consequently, I want this to be my BEST YEAR EVER!
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Learning Disabilities from Eastern Illinois University. I have a Master's Degree in Reading from St. Xavier University. I have certification in Dyslexia, and Middle School Endorsements in Language Arts and Math.
PERSONALLY:
I grew up in Evergreen Park - and still live in the village. I have 5 fabulous children: My oldest daughter is a nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital. She has two children. Addison Mae is my first grandchild! Tyler August is my second grandchild! My next oldest daughter is a graduate of Loyola University - and currently works for Loyola in Admissions. My next oldest daughter is a Kindergarten teacher in Chicago! Next in line is my son, who graduated from Eastern Illinois with a degree in Construction Management and is a project manager. The "baby" of the family graduated from Loyola University in the Marketing program and works for a firm in Downers Grove. My husband is a triathlete... so you may see him running & riding & swimming in the area!
We have added to our family - as we are hosting four international students who are studying at Moraine Valley. Mauricio and his sister Guilliana are from Venezuela. Sebastian is from Sweden. They will be living with us this year. It is truly an adventure!
My favorite things to do: Travel with my husband...hang out with my grandchildren... dine in the city... read... look out over water... tropical vacations... compete in our family fantasy football league... family dinners... shop with my girls... oil painting... and cheer on The CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS - , The Chicago Bears, and NOTRE DAME!
I am passionate about teaching - and truly love working with the students at Central Middle School.
(And yes... the picture is of Mrs. Dugan and me... at the parade and rally for THE BLACKHAWKS!)
